Samsung Jumps Forward

Samsung is known to make few updates in their touchwiz (UI) with every NOTE device they launch, which after some times adopted by Samsung S devices.this time looks like they work the moved out of their comfort zone and did a better job as they simplifies their UI (User Interface) but not Pure Android.

The information about this has been provided by an italian blog HDblog.

Rumor says the all new updated Samsung UI will be known as Grace UX. If true, the updated OS would likely be unveiled in full alongside the Galaxy Note 7, which is expected to get a debut in autumn 2016.

  Most heart shattering movement for an iOS user.

Today i am going discuss about SanDisk iXpand. A must device for any iPhone user who faces storage issues. I know alot of people who face this issue either because their photo gallery is way too heavy and don't want to delete all those special memories. or Music lovers who just can't delete them.(I myself carry songs = about 10 GB :p )

Internet Against extremist videos

Some of the Tech Giant like Facebook,YouTube and Google are taking steps to remove/block videos containing extremist content 

For those who don't know what extremist means it means belief in and support for ideas that are very far from what most people consider correct or reasonable

The moves is taken because of the pressure from governments around the world over big websites.

Facebook and YouTube are among the sites which already started creating scripts and programs to takedown videos from Islamic state and other extremist propaganda videos.

President Barack Obama asked the internet's social-media giants to help preventing terrorist attacks by monitoring and examining hateful content and removing speech as well as terrorist activity that appears on their networks.

Question stands how they will do it?

Originally they are using a software which was created to identify and remove copyright content over Facebook,YouTube or any other site. The software looks for "hashes," a type of unique digital fingerprint that companies automatically assign to specific videos, allowing all content with matching fingerprints to be removed rapidly.Two sources familiar with the process told the news agency. Such technology could be used to prevent reposts of content already deemed unacceptable but not identify new extremist content.

Twitter has suspended more than 125,000 accounts associated with terrorism

Google has said it will display counter-terrorism adverts against searches for extremist material

Latest update:

Facebook, Twitter, Microsoft and YouTube in May agreed to a new European Union code of conduct that takes aim at illegal hate speech and terrorist propaganda posted online. Under the new rules, they have committed to reviewing within 24 hours of receipt the majority of notifications about a social media post that may contain hate speech. They've also agreed to remove the post if necessary.

PROJECT JACQUARD

Hey guys i am back with another fantastic project by GOOGLE ATAP Team. Thanks to Project Jacquard, Google ATAP's touch sensitive fabric and Levi's jacket are coming together.

I know you guys must be thinking how is this possible. Well, We are talking about Google's Advanced Technology and Projects group (ATAP) the same team who turn ideas like GOOGLE Project ARA and Project TANGO into reality.

Origin

The name "Jacquard" is borrowed from the Jacquard Loom, invented in 1801, which could be controlled with punched playing cards and inspired using punched playing cards in computing more than a century later. Just like the loom, ATAP's Project Jacquard is a platform, not a consumer product; it helps in creation of products for uses such as communication, navigation, health and fitness, fashion, and work.

What is Project Jacquard?

Project Jacquard enables textile industry to weave touch and gesture interactivity into any textile using spinning conductive yarns.

Jacquard yarns combine thin conductive material such as metallic alloys with synthetic and cotton or silk making yarn stronger.

The Next Question is HOW?

The platform includes techniques for creating fashion fabrics with conductive fibers woven into them with small,flexible comp. components and feedback devices (such as haptics or LEDs), along with software APIs that apps can use to exchange data with the garment.Basically a person can command into mobile with just a tap or sliding over the garment at a particular place. And the user can be notified by vibration, light or a sound from the garment.

IS IT HELPFUL?

Hell yeah, it is just imagine yourself wearing a jacket and you can control music player, dismiss an incoming call, send simple messages to anyone. All without operating you smart phone. but with just a tap and swipe over you sleeves.Yup, its not a dream anymore they will be most likely be out later this year.

Hey guys, i am back. You must be wondering why i am talking about a form of dance here. well i am talking about Project TANGO here which is born out of GOOGLE ATAP (Advanced Technology and Projects group) team which has produced many other fantastic ideas such as GOOGLE Project ARA.

What is TANGO?

Project Tango is a Google technology platform that uses computer vision to allow mobile devices, such as smartphones and tablets, to detect their position relative to the world around them without using GPS or any other external signals.

ADVANTAGES

• Experience: This allows application developers to create a user experiences that include indoor navigation, 3D mapping, recognition of known environments, and windows into virtual 3D worlds.
• Motion-tracking: Using visual features of the environment, in combination with accelerometer and gyroscope data, to track the device's movements.
• Area learning: Storing data of surroundings in a map that can be re-used later and shared with other Project Tango devices.
• Depth perception: Detecting distances, sizes, and surfaces in the environment.

NOW, You must be wondering can i get hold of this technology Lenovo just announced the Phab 2 Pro, which is the first consumer phone to feature Project Tango.

WhatsApp in Trouble

Supreme Court to hear petition seeking ban on WhatsApp

As we all know, Few weeks back WhatsApp started using 256 bit End-TO-End connections in India.

but In India, a connection of 40 bit is considered legal and services that implementing this type of encryption have to register with Indian govt. Those who are using high level of encryption are currently in Gray area. Basically, WhatsApp is illegal in India but there are no guidelines currently present which can ban them.

The story doesn't end here,

End-to-End encryption is giving governments across the world a big headache to conflict crime and terrorism, and India is going through this problem too. With the current battle between the FBI and Apple wherein encryption of the records on the Iphone changed into a big trouble, WhatsApp and different messaging platforms are permitting encryption to guard the privacy of their customers. 

Though encrypting messages may be a super option in which hackers and the authorities cannot snoop on the user’s private lives,this cause a huge issue when police have to crack into messages that are passed on using this channel to protects its citizen

 one would need a whopping 115, 792, 089, 237, 316, 195, 423, 570, 985, 008, 687, 907, 853, 269, 984, 665, 640, 564, 039, 457, 584, 007, 913, 129, 639, 935 key combinations, which is almost impossible for even a super computer.

What now?

 The Supreme Court will hear next Wednesday a petition seeking a ban on WhatsApp on the ground that the messaging platform's end-to-end encryption gives terrorists a means of communication that is impossible to intercept.

Is this Really a Solution?

Well,This is not a proper solution to the problem common man is going to be the one who will actually suffer if WhatsApp is banned because WhatsApp is a widely used messaging app. which is cheap and reliable and not only this.

And the main problem Terrorist  there are other platforms in which terrorists can safely communicate. The dark internet and hackers are well known with many tools that can encrypt messages at higher levels. Using VPN and TOR networking can also be chosen for using these encrypted messaging platforms.

Banning WhatsApp, Viber, Hike and many other encrypted messaging networks would not settle the issue, but could give an additional boost to the dark internet.


The apex court is now scheduled to hear his public interest litigation (PIL) petition on June 29.
